 What is RET-Nano?

It is a great program administered by Drexel University and University of Pennsylvania, sponsored by National Science Foundation. The program invites teachers to be part of the research in order to bring innovation to their classrooms. "The goal is to help build long-term collaborative partnerships between K-12 science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) teachers, community college faculty, and the NSF university research community by involving the teachers in engineering  research and helping them translate their research experiences and new knowledge of engineering  into classroom activities."

RET-NANO gave me the opportunity to be part of the research and helped me to be more future oriented. While experiencing the life of the scientist I tried to predict future opportunities for my students.  I also developed many ideas and hands-on activities for my students.  I will start a new school year with new ideas and new excitement.

As a math teacher, I am continuosly striving to make real life connection to my lessons. I would like to give my students solid foundation in mathematics and science to prepare them for a new era of nanotechnology. During the program I did many activities I would reuse in my classroom.  I am thankful to my sponsors for the given opportunity.
